Motorcyclist Eludes Officers, But Not Police Dogs

According to a court document, the May 17 chase stretched from Towson to Pikesville.

Baltimore County police recently followed a motorcyclist from Towson through the hills of Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Pikesville after he failed to comply with a traffic stop, drove through a roadblock and gated entrance, ditched his motorcycle and ran, according to court documents.

Police arrested the motorcyclist, Duane L. Randall, 24, of the 9100 block of Saracen Drive in Pikesville, on multiple charges including resisting and interfering with arrest, according to a Baltimore County police officer's seven-page statement.

The May 17 incident began when an officer from Towson's Precinct 6 saw the motorcyclist allegedly driving on Dulaney Valley Road near Fairmount Avenue and merge "across multiple lanes of traffic in one abrupt, fluid motion without signaling," the officer stated in a report.

As the officer followed, he saw the rear tag was obstructed and tried to stop Randall at Fairmount and Bosley avenues. But Randall allegedly refused to stop, and crossed over a light rail crossing while the gates were down and the red lights were flashing, according to the statement.

As police followed, Randall allegedly drove onto Greenspring Valley Road, south on Stevenson Road to Old Court Road and onto Park Heights Avenue, meandered through his own neighborhood, back to Reisterstown Road, where he "slalomed past" and went through a red light. He drove at speeds of up to 100 mph, the document stated, and made his way to Mount Wilson Lane.

Once at the Ner Israel college located at 400 Mt. Wilson Road, Randall allegedly drove past the guard shack, around the manually operated gates and onto the campus, the document stated.

Officers found the motorcycle in a field near the dormitories, and saw Randall allegedly run into the woods, according to the document. He continued running even when police told him to stop.

A K9 unit found Randall and, after a struggle, officers handcuffed and arrested him.
