A 15-year-old Maryland girl was reportedly raped in a school hallway as students were filing into the high school building for classes – and none of them knew about the attack.

Wicomico County Superintendent of Schools John Fredericksen described the case as “gut-wrenching.”

Parkside High School students told DelMarvaNow.com Tuesday they were shocked to hear there had been a rape in a school hallway the day before.

“How could that go on where a teacher doesn’t know?” junior Kelsie Dukes told the newspaper.

It was a question on many minds as news emerged of the Monday morning sexual assault of a 15-year-old girl.

The rape occurred at about 8 a.m. Monday, when most Parkside students would have been in their first class of the day. The suspect, a Parkside student, reportedly made sexual advances toward the 15-year-old girl, then pulled her down a hallway and raped her, according to charging documents.

“This is just horrible,” Fredericksen said. “Our children should be safe, our families should be safe, to do their very best.”

Jocori Marece Scarborough, 17, of Delmar is charged as an adult with eight crimes, including first- and second-degree rape, first- and second-degree assault and kidnapping. Online court records show he was released on $100,000 bond.

School officials have not said whether the incident was recorded on camera.

People are in denial.

What I can NOT understand is how our LAWS allow a RAPIST to get out on bail. He should have to stay behind bars until he has his fair and speedy trial. If he is INNOCENT, release him. If he is GUILTY, subtract the amount of time he already spent behind bars from his sentence. This keeps everyone SAFE no matter the outcome. The RAPIST, if found GUILTY, is NOT given the opportunity to ATTACK again. #Timetochangethelaws, #SpeakUpSpeakOut, (TM)

If 52% of rapists are white then that means 48% are black. Since blacks only make up about 10% of our national population, then they make up a disproportionate number of rapes.

I'm betting this rapist doesn't think he raped at all. That's the way males are being raised today.

thats pretty brazen - this type of behaviour needs severe attention , before others get the idea this habit serves lil punishment - bein charged as an adult is a good start
