Sixteen Residents Displaced After Friday Morning Fire

One Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company firefighter was injured, treated at the hospital and released.

Sixteen Milford Mill residents were displaced Friday morning after a fire broke out at their apartment buildings.

At about 2:07 a.m., firefighters were called to 3628 Yennar Lane, where fire was coming up through the roof, according to a press release from the Baltimore County Fire Department.

Fire spread through the attic area of the first apartment building to second building at 3530 Yennar Lane, the release states.

In all, 12 apartments were damaged, and the American Red Cross helped them find other places to stay.

Fire damaged the third-floor units in both buildings, and water and smoke damaged the other apartments in those buildings

One firefighter from the had minor injuries, but he was treated and released from the hospital, the release states. No civilians were injured.

All residents got out of the buildings before fire crews arrived, it states.

About 100 firefighters were at the scene.

The cause and origin of the fire is still under investigation, according to the release.
