Rap Artist Took Canceled Pikesville Party to DC

Gucci Mane's concert was canceled last weekend in Pikesville.

Rapper Gucci Mane's album release party set for Saturday in Pikesville was held at an alternative site in D.C.

Fur Night Club took on the party after the Pikesville one was canceled with short notice Friday.

The new location was mentioned on the artist's website, as well as on Fur's website.

The cancelation by the Pikesville Military Reservation, the original site of the planned party, concerned Baltimore County police, who used their own social media, and asked Pikesville Patch for help in getting the word out.

The department wanted to make sure that fans didn't show up in Pikesville, disappointed that the concert had been canceled.

There were no incidents in Pikesville Saturday related to the canceled concert, said Lt. Michael DiCara of the department's Pikesville precinct.

That type? Violent fans? No, we don't need that type in Pikesville. We'll just live with the identity theives who scam people out of thousands.

I don't really see how identity thieves can be ascribed to a certain area. What identity thieves are you referring to in Pikesville? I just don't want to live somewhere that is considered inviting to the "gangsta" lifestyle and those who either adhere to it or admire it, e.g. fans of said rap "artist."

I really think DC was a better choice for his venue due to the cultural scene that exists there.DC is just the place to be if you want night life (IMHO). I don't listen to hiphop anymore, as I'm older now and my attention has now turned to R&B and gospel. However I will say that classifying fans of rap music as "low class" is very stereotypical. I rollerskate weekly where they play hiphop songs and we are a very low key, fun loving, non-violent, and classy bunch. What a shame that people's fear cause them to spread such nasty stereotypical propaganda. There are bad apples in all walks of life.
