Randallstown resident Sterling Lewis faces a jury trial beginning Tuesday in the March 27, 2011, slaying of alleged drug dealer Willie Jackson.
The trial is set to open at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Baltimore County Circuit Court and is expected to conclude by Thursday.
On March 27, 2011, police sent to the 4000 block of Winlee Rd., in Randallstown, found Jackson, of Heatherton Court in Milford Mill, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He later died.
Police allege Lewis, posing as a drug buyer, instead tried to steal drugs from Jackson and another person.
Police charged Lewis, of the 3900 block of Nemo Rd., Randallstown, with first-degree attempted murder, attempted robbery, as well as handgun and assault charges.
Reginald Frederick, 22, also a resident of the 3900 block of Nemo Rd., but at a different address, was convicted in July of first-degree murder in the assault.
Frederick's sentencing is set for 9:30 a.m. Oct. 24 before Judge John J. Nagle III in Baltimore County Circuit Court.
