Police: Suspicious Package at Synagogue Deemed Harmless

The Baltimore County bomb squad investigated a package found near Suburban Orthodox Synagogue in Pikesville.

On Sunday at around 10:45 p.m. a Pikesville resident spotted a suspicious bag near the synagogue and called police.

The resident showed officers a black bag on the sidewalk next to a telephone pole and "directly across" from the synagogue in the 7500 block of Seven Mile Lane, said police spokesman Lt. Robert McCullough.

The Baltimore County Police Department's bomb squad responded and investigated, "revealing that the bag contained only a blanket and other miscellaneous items," McCullough said.
