Police Charge Man in Thanksgiving Day Stabbing

Baltimore County police charged Gilberto Y. Mendez, 24, of the 3500 block of Langrehr Road, Windsor Mill, in connection with a stabbing Thanksgiving Day.

At about 7 p.m. Nov. 24, the victim asked an allegedly intoxicated man to move away from where motorists were trying to park their vehicles in a lot, according to a statement from Baltimore County police.

A suspect then allegedly stabbed the victim's abdomen and ran, according to the statement. Police found the victim in a parking lot in the 8100 block of Liberty Road, Windsor Mill.

He was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma for treatment.

Police arrested Mendez soon afterward on Nov. 24. Police charged him with attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault, according to the statement.

Mendez is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bail.
