, the acronym for a group titled Counseling, Helpline and Aid to Abused Women, nominated Posluszny for his work on a marriage case that is ongoing, Posluszny said.

"I don't like the limelight," Posluszny said after the PCRC meeting. Still, he said, he is honored to be receiving the award. "Just a 'thank-you' is all I need. But it's going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. How often do you get an award from the Governor's Office?"

The luncheon will "honor those who have helped victims," according to an April 25 news release from the Governor's Office of Crime Control & Prevention. "The event will highlight individuals and agencies in both the public and private sector [who] have demonstrated outstanding performance in providing services and support to Maryland’s victims of crime during calendar year 2010."

Lt. Gov. Anthony G. Brown is expected to participate.

Guest speakers will be Mexican publisher Eduardo Valseca and his American-born wife Jayne Valseca, the release states. "In 2007, Eduardo was kidnapped for ransom in Mexico by criminals who brutalized him and confined him to a box. His experience has been described as 7 1/2 months of sheer terror, torture, and desperation," the release states. "The couple will discuss Eduardo’s ordeal, and her determined and successful struggle to free him."
