Pikesville Man Faces Attempted First-Degree Murder Charge

Police: Roey Sahar Cherkasski, 20, allegedly stabbed a 20-year-old victim three times.

Police charged Pikesville resident Roey Sahar Cherkasski, 20, with attempted first-degree murder after a street fight early Saturday in the Twin Ridge area.

During that fight, a 20-year-old Pikesville man was stabbed three times, once in the chest and twice in the leg, at Old Willow Road and Sunny Meadow Court, said Det. Cathy Batton of Baltimore County police.

The victim was transported to Sinai Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Batton said.

As of Tuesday evening, he was still in the hospital. He had been in too much pain to discuss the fight with police, she said.

Police also charged Cherkasski with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, she said. He is being held, without bail, at the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson.

According to a report from , the fight occurred at about 1:41 a.m. Saturday. "Cherkasski went to Old Willow Road and Sunny Meadow Court to see how many people were there. He and his friends were to meet a group of subjects for a fight," it states.

However, Cherkasski encountered the victim, and the two of them fought, the report states. "During the fight the suspect pulled his knife out, stabbing the victim three times," it said.

Cherkasski allegedly ran to Moses Montefiore Synagogue parking lot at 7000 Rockland Hills Drive, to meet his two friends, Batton said.

"A blood trail led from that intersection (Old Willow Road and Sunny Meadow Court)" to where the victim was found at the intersection of Snow Meadow Lane and Suntop Court, she said.
