Pikesville Crime: Boys Arrested in Mongoose Theft

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. In cases were a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Two teenage boys and two preteens were charged with second-degree burglary after police say they caught them stealing a bicycle.

At 3:08 a.m. Aug. 13, someone allegedly saw the boys stealing an orange and black Mongoose brand bike, valued at $80, from a storage room in the 6900-block of Marsue Dr., a police report states.

When police arrived, the boys allegedly ran and officers caught them. Police charged them with second-degree burglary.

The boys are 17, 15, 12 and 11 years old, the report states. They are from ZIP codes 21215 and 21207.

Hmmm...21215 and 21207....just more African American youth making trouble in Pikesville again.....it didn't use to be this way.

George, you prejudice pig. You don't know what race they are. I know plenty of other races from that area. Get a life!

@George: much of life isn't the way it used to be. Don't get stuck on these youth.

how to be politically correct; if they belong to NAACP they are colored people, if they used money from united negro college fund they are negro, if you celebrate black history month you are black and if you were born in africa and came to america and became a citizen then you are african american, other wise why can't they just be called americans

@Dana: Don't let George get you all riled up. He has nothing better to do, know what I mean?

well and good, but you know full well what race they are, and you know it. I am just speaking the truth, you don't want to hear it.

Was it even necessary to include where they live? Or was that code to let people know the boys may be African American? Charging kids with stealing a bike, really? Maybe they should charge their parents for neglect, why in the world were they out at 3am!? Thanks for keeping the black fear going Janet! This patch sticks of major racial undertones!

@Dominique: anything with a whiff of race creates buzz on the Pikesville Patch. She likely has to justify her job and there is nothing like comments to do that. We all know that use of the zip codes was an inelegant attempt to mention race. You raise an important question though: what the hell were those kids doing out at 3 am? Thank goodness school starts soon.
