Pikesville Attorney Charged with Theft

'The Baltimore Sun': Police charged Stanley Needleman with one count of theft for allegedly taking a textbook from a courtroom.

Police have charged attorney Stanley Needleman, a Pikesville resident, with theft after he allegedly stole a judicial clerk's school textbook from a Baltimore County courtroom, according to The Baltimore Sun.

"Needleman, 68, has been charged with one count of theft under $100 after police say a check of court surveillance cameras showed him on May 9 flipping through the textbook, titled Understanding White Collar Crime, walking away with it and resuming his spot behind the defense table to represent a client," according to The Sun article.

"In an interview with a detective, according to police charging documents, Needleman said he picked up the book because it 'had to do with my situation,' an apparent reference to raids on his North Calvert Street office and Pikesville home in mid-April by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration," the article states.
