Pikesville Crime: Burglars Target Copper Piping, Jewelry, Electronics

Lochearn

Southern Cross Drive. 3800 block. Between 7:35 a.m. and 2:50 p.m. Feb. 9.  A rear bathroom window was forced open a few inches, but nothing was reported missing inside the house.

Southern Cross Drive. 3800 block. Between Jan. 1-31.  A push mower was reported missing from inside a screened-in porch at the home, and another push mower was reported missing from an open shed, according to a Feb. 9 policereport.

Milford Mill

3700 Coronado Road. Between Jan. 28 and 8:30 a.m. Feb. 4.  A rear door was forced open and 20-30 feet of copper piping was reported missing from the basement.

Pikesville

Old Pimlico Road. 6800 block. Between 10:15 p.m. Feb. 7 and 11:54 p.m. Feb. 9. A window was broken, screens were cut and several rooms were ransacked. A laptop computer and jewelry, including a college ring, were reported missing. The total missing items were reportedly worth $1,300. Damage was $750.

Templecliff Road. 800 block. Between 5 p.m. Feb. 6 and 12:30 p.m. Feb. 9. A window was shattered, a rear door pried, and someone tried to steal copper piping from a vacant house. Piping wasn't stolen, however, because all the piping is PVC.

Leafydale Terrace. 700 block. Between 1 p.m. Feb. 8 and 10 a.m. Feb. 9. A front door, a security door with bars, locks and doorframe were damaged on an unoccupied house. Basement drywall was damaged and copper piping was removed from the basement, police said.

Windsor Mill

Valley Terrace. 3600 block. Between 7:15 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Feb. 8. The front door was open and a small puppy, a TV, two video game consols and video games were reported missing. Three doors were opened, but there were no pry marks, so a burglar could have opened them, the police report states.
