Olde Mill Estates Residents Enjoy Movie, Moon Bounce and More

Growth association held its first National Night Out event Tuesday in Randallstown.

The new Olde Mille Estates Growth Association pulled out all the stops Tuesday for its National Night Out event.

There was a moon bounce, and the movie "Despicable Me" played on a large screen in a field. There was food, games, a singing group and more.

When McGruff the Crime Dog and officers from the showed up, their presence was announced over the loudspeaker and  children flocked around them.

OMEGA, an organization that has been dormant for two years, threw the party for nearly 200 people.

"This is our kick-off event," said Michelle McCallum, association vice president. "We did this in less than three weeks."

Linda Harrington, chairman of the National Night Out event committee, said it was the right time to hold the event. "I think the community has really been waiting for this to happen," she said.

During the event, the association signed up new members, and pushed the groups new Facebook page.

The next association meeting is set for 7 p.m. Aug. 10 at the CCBC Randallstown Campus, 3637 Offutt Road.

Isaac Monjoe, an event committee member, said the National Night Out event and the newly active association will help make the community better and bring people together.
