Missing Pikesville Native, UMD Student Found Dead

Detectives are investigating the death as a suicide.

Police said they found the body of a missing Pikesville native Friday night.

David Johnathan Scherr, 20, a University of Maryland student, was unresponsive in a 2013 Ford Escape parked in a lot near Route 197 and Route 450, according to Prince George's County Police.

Detectives are investigating the death as a suicide.

Scherr had been missing since Dec. 19.

It sounds like he was only recently dead, as he was described as unresponsive when found, not obviously deceased. So, where had he been for 9 or 10 days? I hope they can figure it out and make sure there was no foul play involved. It is always sad to see suicide as there probably was a way out of his situation, that would have allowed him to resume a happy and full life. Rest in peace! I hope you find the peace you could not find here on earth.
