Man Charged with DUI Allegedly Threatens Officer's Life

A 48-year-old Gwynn Oak man was arrested Monday after police charged him with driving under the influence, and other traffic violations.

He allegedly threatened the arresting officer, according to a report by the Baltimore County Police Department. However, no criminal charges have been filed, according to court records.

At 2:29 a.m., police arrested Herbert Henry Norton of the unit block of Western Winds Circle, according to a report by Baltimore County police.

He was stopped near the intersection of Liberty Road and Sedgemoor, court records state.

According to the police report by the arresting officer, while Norton was being transported to the Pikesville precinct, Norton allegedly "became highly agitated and stated numerous times that he would find where I live and he was going to kill me."

"This continued once at the precinct and during the processing of the suspect," it states.

The precinct is at 215 Milford Mill Road, Pikesville.

Norton was charged with five traffic violations, court records state:

Driver consuming alcoholic beverage in passenger area of motor vehicle on highway; driving, attempting to drive vehicle while under the influence of alcohol; driving, attempting to drive vehicle while impaired with alcohol; driving, attempting to drive vehicle not equipped with an ignition interlock as required by program; driving on suspended license, and speeding.

Norton was released from the Baltimore County Detention Center on Tuesday, on $85,000 bond, court records state.
