UPDATE—Grey Rock House Fire Damages Three Homes

A fire—caused by a truck colliding with a house on Howard Forest Lane—burned one house and damaged two others, fire officials said.

UPDATE (5:54 p.m.)—A truck collided with the house at 8821 Howard Forest Lane in Grey Rock and caught fire, according to fire officials.

While the visible fire has been extinguished, fire crews are expected to continue to work at scene, according to a news release from the Baltimore County Fire Department.

Two adjacent homes, at 8823 and 8819, were also damaged in the fire,  according to the release.

Firefighters throughout the Pikesville and Owings Mills areas battled the house fire near the intersection of Old Plantation Way and Howard Forest Lane, authorities said.

Neighbors said the fire reportedly began in a landscaping truck and somehow spread to the homes.

Pikesville High School journalism student Kara Seidel said she watched as there was an explosion and the fire spread to two houses.

Departments from Pikesville, Glyndon, Owings Mills and Franklin were among those battling the blaze.
