Good Morning, Pikesville!

Baltimore County Fire Department gives damage estimate after Feb. 11 fire. And enjoy the quiet peace of the rain today, because the forecast calls for thunderstorms to rock Pikesville Friday.

The fire on Feb. 11 at DC Dental in Pikesville caused about $35,000 in damage, said Glenn Blackwell, spokesman for the Baltimore County Fire Department.

No injuries were reported, he said.

At about 4:30 p.m. Feb. 11, Baltimore County Fire Department's Station 2, Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company and others responded to the call of smoke coming from the building at 1133 Greenwood Road, in the Gwynnvale area, near Sudbrook Park.

County Fire, Pikesville, Owings Mills and Woodlawn Volunteer fire companies responded, as well as Baltimore County Police Department, Precinct 4, Pikesville. Also on scene was the all-volunteer Rehab 156, based at Station 2. This unit supplies food, coffee and other comforts to firefighters and emergency workers at the sites of emergencies.

Rainy days

It's been clear overnight, but there could be some rain by 4 p.m. today, Thursday, Feb. 24, according to the National Weather Service's Pikesville forecast.

There is an 80 percent chance of precipitation, and about 1/10 inch will fall, it states.

More rain will fall tonight—up to 1 inch—when there is a 100 percent chance of precipitation.

The high is expected to be near 45 degrees, with a low of 40.

Friday could bring showers, and, after noon, some thunderstorms with gusty winds as well, the forecast states. "New rainfall between 1/4- and 1/2-inch are possible."

It will be partly cloudy Friday night, with northwest winds of 15-18 mph.

Friday's high is expected to be near 60 degrees and a low of 28.
