Fire Company Sets Open House, Dedication of Rescue Squad

During National Fire Prevention Month, the Pikesville Volunteer Fire Company will hold an open house and dedication ceremony for its new heavy rescue squad truck next month.

Meet volunteer firefighters and emergency medical providers, and take a tour of the firehouse Oct. 23 at the .

From noon to 4 p.m., the PVFC will hold an open house, including demonstrations and other events, according to a news release.

The company will also dedicate its new, $800,000 Heavy Rescue Squad 322, .

The latest vehicle is a state-of-the-art 2010 Spartan Gladiator/Rosenbauer rescue truck that will help the company perform rescues such as automobile accidents, building collapses, , industrial accidents, stuck and occupied elevators, among others, the release states.

  • Watch an automobile extrication demonstration
  • Fire engine ride for children
  • Practice squirting a firehose
  • Meet Sparky the Fire Dog

The PVFC is the only volunteer fire company in Baltimore County with an active , the release states. is the team's primary response vehicle, and is the company's primary response vehicle for auto accidents and fire calls.
