Father Arrested, Charged With Murder of Son

Toddler, 18 months old, died Feb. 4 in Precinct 2/Woodlawn.

Baltimore County Police arrested Sheldon Barry Brown after he was charged in the murder of his 18-month-old son, police said May 13.

The boy died February 4 in Precinct 2/Woodlawn, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled his death a murder in April, according to a police statement.

On Jan. 31, he was taken by ambulance to University Hospital in Baltimore. "He had multiple traumatic injuries and was pronounced deceased on Feb. 4," according to a police statement last month.

"A preliminary investigation and autopsy were conducted at that time, and detectives have been waiting for the results of the autopsy," it stated.

Before his death, the boy resided in the 9500 block of Branchleigh Road, in the police Precinct 2/Woodlawn area. The investigation is still ongoing.
