Couple Reports Assault, Hearing 'Cap Gun' Sounds in Pikesville

The following information was provided by the Baltimore County Police Department's Pikesville Precinct. In cases where charges are noted, charges do not indicate convictions.

A man and woman were at an intersection in the Ranchleigh area of Pikesville when two males shot at them.

Some time between 10:30 p.m. and 10:40 p.m. July 8, at Smith Avenue and Edenvale Road, two males came up to the couple, aimed a gun at them and "told them to get down," according to a report by Baltimore County police.

Instead, they both ran, and "heard multiple gunshots, which sounded like a 'cap gun,'" the report states.

The weapon is described as a single-barrel handgun, or a cap gun, the report states.
