Maryland Public Television’s Holiday Gift Auction Kicks Off

Maryland Public Television’s Holiday Gift Auction, an annual holiday shopping opportunity, kicks off November 8 and continues online for 10 days at auction.mpt.org , with final bidding on November 18 at 9 p.m. 

On Thursday, November 8 at 8 p.m., MPT broadcasts the MPT Auction Highlights show, showcasing many of the available auction items, with a rebroadcast airing on MPT2 on Sunday, November 11 at 9 p.m.  Auction participants have a chance to win these one-of-a-kind items, including:

  • Outdoors Maryland 25th anniversary experience – kayak tour of the Jug Bay Natural Area for 12 persons with REI Outdoor School
  • World-class driving US tour package - drive 5 exotic supercars from Ferrari, Lamborghini over a 60-mile route
  • Elmo gifts signed by Baltimore native puppeteer Kevin Clash, including watches, Elmo doll, DVDs and more

MPT's Holiday Auction is the place to go for holiday shopping. It’s a one-stop source for local and distinctive, unique and hard-to-find items for music and arts patrons, foodies and gourmands, travelers, mystery and drama fans, local history and culture enthusiasts, nature and science buffs, and families.

Items up for auction include tropical vacations, outdoor adventure trips, weekend getaways, celebrity-autographed gifts and collectibles, tickets to live performances, fine dining, opera, British dramas, art, books and much more.  Viewers can bid on gifts from home or by mobile devices while supporting public television.

Pictures, videos and descriptions of auction items are displayed with a place to enter their limit bid. Each time the bid is raised, bidders will be notified through e-mail and given the chance to increase their bids. New merchandise will be added to the auction throughout the 10-day event.
