2 New Weis Markets To Open Sunday

The Woodlawn store is located at 7005 Security Boulevard.

Two Weis markets will celebrate the grand opening of two stores in Baltimore County.

At 9 a.m. Sunday, a small ceremony will be held at the new, 58,027-square-foot Woodlawn store, located at 7005 Security Blvd., according to a news release from Weis Markets.

And another ceremony will be held at the new, 55,476-square-foot Towson store at 1238 Putty Hill Ave., where a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held, and Weis representatives will donate a $50,000 check to the Maryland Food Bank.

"Additional donations will be made to the Baltimore Humane Society, Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Company, the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, Woodlawn Senior Center and more," the release states.

Both new stores are energy-efficient, the release states.

Features include high-efficiency refrigeration and freezer cases with LED lighting and motion sensors. Those "will reduce refrigerant usage by 60 percent compared to conventional supermarkets."

There are also solar/thermal rated windows, LED lighting and skylights for natural lighting.

Each store has deli and meat departments, a sushi bar, pharmacy and ethnic foods, according to the release.
