There is something for EVERYONE at the Levindale United Way Family Fun Day on Sunday, August 25 from 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. at Levindale Geriatric Center at 2434 West Belvedere Avenue, Balt., MD 21215!
Admission to the event is $5 for adults and $2 for children under 10.
Adults can stop by and shred their sensitive documents free of charge thanks to the company, Shred It. They can also drop off bulk waste free of charge thanks to the company, Reduction in Motion.*
However, getting grown up tasks done is only one-half of the equation. Children of all ages will enjoy the variety of entertaining games, the moon bounce and a playground filled with colorful equipment.
Of course, no day of family fun would be complete without festive food and one-of-a-kind shopping.
Money raised benefits the United Way of Central Maryland's Family Stability Initiative which helps local families who are homeless or on the brink of losing their homes. This includes financial assistance with urgent matters such as overdue utility bills, guidance with budgeting and/or finding employment.
*Among the items considered bulk waste are: CD/DVD drives, cell phones, computers, copiers, electric motors, exercise equipment, appliances, lawn equipment with the gas removed and scrap metal.
*Among the items NOT accepted are: batteries, light bulbs, medical waste, nuclear waste, paint, radioactive waste, thermostats and mercury.
