National Weather Service: Tornado Watch in Effect

Baltimore County and 12 other counties are listed under the NWS alert.

Watch out for tornadoes tonight in Pikesville and throughout Baltimore County as well as showers and some severe thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS has a tornado watch in effect through 2 a.m. April 28 for our county, Baltimore City, and for 12 other Maryland counties, including neighboring Anne Arundel, Howard and Harford.

"Any storms this evening will have the potential to produce damaging wind gusts, large hail and a few tornadoes," the watch states.

Wednesday night is expected to be cloudy and about 66 degrees, according to the NWS forecast for Pikesville. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

There might be thunderstorms Thursday, mainly between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., as a cold front moves through the region.

"Some storms may be severe and will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts and large hail. Storms also may produce very heavy rainfall that could lead to localized flash flooding," according to the NWS.

Expect a high of 79 degrees tomorrow, with a low of about 51 degrees.
