The Prime Rib Is No Gamble at Maryland Live

The 4th Prime Rib restaurant, located in Maryland Live Casino at Arundel Mills in Hanover, MD, is a hit.

I was waiting for weeks for it to arrive.

Then, you know, one day I opened my email and there it was. No, I wasn't a lottery winner. I was invited to experience the Prime Rib's newest location, inside the Maryland Live Casino.

I felt like Sally Field at the Oscars. They like me, they like me.

You can use either of the entrances to Maryland Live, the one across from the mall or the closer one which is now the main entrance.

The restaurant, at 7002 Arundel Mills Circle, Hanover, MD, is basically a partnership between Maryland Live and The Prime Rib, but it is totally run by Maryland Live.

Once through the main door of the restaurant you arrive in the lounge of the Prime Rib, a 75-seat bar-lounge that is very chic. And it comes with a piano player.

Food service is available here. Heading straight ahead you're now in the 14-seat private dining room surrounded by nearly 1,000 bottles of wine.

This is where our private party was held. You must ask for this room when making a reservation, which, by the way, is strongly recommended.

Through more doors and there is the main dining room, very comfortable and controlled with a top-notch staff ... off to one side is the patio, a 76-seat, open-air lounge with a retractable roof and a large, glass firepit.

I have a feeling this restaurant is going to be a great success.

This is the fourth Prime Rib location, and the Baltimore location is Zagat rated: a big deal in the restaurant world.

There is a dress code, but jackets for men are not required.
