     I'm always happy when a new business opens in or around the city.  Any business really.  My feeling is that it's good for the neighborhood it's in and to give people jobs.  But I'm especially delighted when it's a restaurant, since I spend so much time in them reporting for either the radio or sites like Patch.

     I want to mention a new restaurant in Mt Vernon, 111 West Centre to be exact.  It's bDelight mixing a combination of healthy ingredients and tasty food at very reasonable prices.  Basically they are trying to limit our intake of sodium, saturated fat and cholesterol.  To my way of thinking, that's a good thing.  For one thing, that means controlling portion size.  Of course there are folks who don't care about all that, and to them I say, that is really too bad.

     The main menu includes offerings such as beef pasta, chicken pasta, chili chicken, beef with broccoli, pineapple pork and chicken and tuna salad.   Sides include white and brown rice, noodles and garlic bread.  The salads include chickpea and cranberry spinach.  The desserts include marshmallow pudding, fruit cup and mango pudding.

     The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner daily from 11 am to 10 pm.  You can eat there, take out or have it delivered to your home or office if you are within about a 15 minute driving distance.  Catering is also available.  You can park on the street or in various nearby garages.     

     Your experience begins online when you fill out a profile that has specific information about you, like gender, age, height, weight, etc.  Then you select the dishes you want to order.  At that point the computer calculates the appropriate portion size for each meal based on calories and nutrients.   Sounds like fun and certainly valuable info to have.
