Pikesville veteran photojournalist and video editor Kathy Pugh named producer for Maryland Public Television development productions

Emmy® winner holds prestigious industry awards for behind-the-camera work 

Kathy Pugh, a Pikesville resident and two-decade video production specialist and photojournalist, has been named producer for the Development Division at Maryland Public Television.  In her new position, Ms. Pugh will be responsible for a variety of MPT productions such as the Our Town documentary series that highlights cities and towns in Maryland.

For the past 14 years, Ms. Pugh has served as editor in post-production, being responsible for MPT programs including the weekly Chesapeake Collectibles, and as floor director and studio camera operator for numerous live shows.

She has earned five regional Emmy® awards as well as a Gold Eagle award from CINE and a Telly Award. In addition, she has earned Emmy® nominations for her work on MPT spots that aired in conjunction with the Ken Burns documentary series The War.

 

Ms. Pugh earned her undergraduate degree in communications form Clarion State College in Pennsylvania.  She also attended Pennsylvania State University.

Ms. Pugh has volunteered extensively for a variety of community causes including the Cool Kids Campaign, the Believe in Tomorrow Children’s Foundation, the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults, and Special Olympics.
