What's Up Along Reisterstown Road?

Construction continues on the new Healthway Pharmacy building at the site of the defunct Backfin Restaurant; demolition begins for the new Walgreens; and don't forget the street festival this weekend.

It's construction season, and projects along Reisterstown Road are moving right along.

At the site of the former Staples store, at the intersection of Old Court and Reisterstown roads, demolition has begun to convert the building into . The footprint will remain the same, but there will be new landscaping and new features outside, including signage, of course.

And at the site of the , brick-and-mortar work is in progress on a new, two-story building with partial basement where will relocate.

The building will house other offices as well.

Street Festival Saturday

You can see both these projects as you head to Waldron Avenue for the fourth-annual Pikesville Street Festival, set for 3-8 p.m. Saturday.

The event features music by Fab Four—a Beatles tribute show—and a classic cars show.

Parking will be available at three places: behind the 1100 block of Reisterstown Road, in the Sherwood Avenue parking lot on Deriso Lane, and at the Pikes Diner.
