Hot news

now has its own Web site: jillyspikesville.com; and within two weeks there will be a new menu posted there.

That's right, the popular hangout is changing up its entire menu now that it has recently finished expanding its kitchen, adding a pizza oven, steamers and more, said Scott Reich, owner.

"We'll have a new menu in about two weeks that will include fresh-dough pizza—we are going to make our own dough right here—also sliders, more steak, more seafood, including stuffed shrimp." Also on the menu will be boiled corn and more.

To make room for the new pizza oven, charbroiler and steamers, Jilly's took out a wall in the kitchen, eliminating a storage space there.

"And what goes better with pizza than beer?" Rich said.

Rich has added 10 more draft beers to Jilly's offerings—including more microbrews, beers from Maryland and brews from throughout the country.

That's a grand total of 33 drafts. Among the new offerings is National Bohemian beer, known as Natty Boh. "It just became available ... and we've got it," Rich said.

Yesterday, during the Orioles opening day, many patrons were ordering up the beer that's synonymous with the team.
