Baby Born at Sinai During Game to Receive $1,000

While the Ravens compete in the AFC playoffs Sunday against the Texans, the hospital will be caring for the first baby born during the game.

The Ravens game might not be the only competition on expectant parents' minds this weekend.

On Sunday, during the Ravens divisional round playoff game against the Texans, the first baby born at Sinai Hospital will get a $1,000 savings bond, according to a news release from the hospital.

That bond will be from the Herman & Walter Samuelson Children's Hospital at Sinai, the release states.

“That baby will literally be able to say he or she was born a Ravens fan,” said Neil Meltzer, president and chief operating officer for the hospital.

"Unlike the game of football, the rules are simple," the release states:

  • The first baby born at The BirthPlace at Sinai between 1-11:59 p.m. Jan. 15 will win the $1,000 savings bond. That's Eastern Standard Time.
  • "If the Ravens advance to the AFC Championship game, the contest will continue the following week with a $2,000 savings bond being offered," it states. "If the Ravens go to the Super Bowl, the Samuelson Children’s Hospital will award a $5,000 savings bond during that game."

Sinai Hospital is a part of LifeBridge Health, which includes Northwest Hospital in Randallstown, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, Courtland Gardens Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, and more.
