UPDATE (11:45 a.m.)—The future of Quarry Bagel & Cafe is uncertain, as it changes ownership, but the restaurant will remain open.

An auction advertisement on Alex Cooper Chattel Auctions gives some clues as to what's going on at the Shops at Quarry Lake business, a popular local restaurant that earned Pikesville Patch's Readers Choice Award for Best Sandwich.

"Being offered for auction is the business as entirety only," the announcement states. "Partnership dissolution forces immediate auction sale. Exciting opportunity for experienced food operator to purchase full functioning bagel/deli cafe in well-known Quarry Lake in Pikesville."

Owner Geoff Friedman said in a comment on this article that the business will remain open.

Included in the sale are: name, goodwill, equipment including Globe SP 20 Mixer, a range, walk-in refrigerator and freezer, and more, it states.

The auction is 1 p.m. Friday, March 22, it states.
