Prometric Brings 250 Jobs to White Marsh, County

The 60,000 square-foot facility will host the company's global testing facility for the certification of doctors and other professionals.

County officials hailed the opening of a 60,000 square-foot facility that will be used as the global operations center for a company that provides certification testing around the world.

Prometric conducts testing in the academic, financial, government, healthcare, professional, corporate and information technology markets.

The headquarters is expected to support more than 10 million certification exams at 8,200 test sites in 160 countries.

"Our company's most fundamental purpose is to produce reliable and valid test results for people to fairly demonstrate their knowledge and expertise,” Michael Brannick, Prometric's president and chief executive officer, said in a statement released by Baltimore County.

“These are the exams your physicians, teachers, accountants, law enforcement officers, architects and other distinguished professionals successfully complete to gain the public trust.”

The county announced Prometric’s move to White Marsh earlier this year. The company held a job fair last month.

The opening of the new $12 million center in White Marsh brought 250 jobs to the area. Of those, 150 involve employees who relocated from Minnesota and other parts of Maryland and another 100 new jobs, according to a statement released by Baltimore County.

"Prometric is a global company that now has even more local economic impact," Baltimore County Executive Kevin Kamenetz, said in a statement.
