Pikesville's Suburban House Restaurant Participating in Baltimore County Restaurant Week

Pikesville's own Suburban House Deli is participating in Baltimore County Restaurant Week (which really lasts two weeks) through Jan. 28.

Suburban House's special dinner menu for the event includes two dinners for $35.11: Soup or salad; choice of roasted or fried chicken, grilled salmon or flounder crab cake or beef liver served with one side; and cheesecake for dessert.

Suburban House, located at 1700 Reisterstown Road, is the only Pikesville restaurant out of 40 restaurants participating in the event.

The event is set up by Baltimore County government, the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce and others to showcase the county's restaurants.

According to a news release from the county, in fiscal year 2010, the county's restaurant sales brought in $1.2 billion, ranking the second highest in Maryland. Montgomery County led with $1.5 billion.

On Jan. 13, the day before the start of the event, surrounded by restaurateurs at the historic Milton Inn, County Executive Kevin Kamenetz noted the economic importance of the industry, and encouraged county residents and visitors to dine out during the event, "to savor local flavor and delicious deals.”
   
“As a lifelong county resident, I am always pleased to find new ways to enjoy all the County has to offer,” John Olszewski, Sr., chairman of the Baltimore County Council said, according to a county news release. “Baltimore County Restaurant Week is a great opportunity for folks to try something new or visit a favorite spot.”
