Pikesville Chef Advances in Charity Cookoff

Melissa Fordham of Gourmet Again competes against a Roy's Restaurant Baltimore chef on Monday.

Gourmet Again Chef Melissa Fordham is in the top four chefs competing in a cookoff for charity.

She's made it to the semi-final round of the which is ongoing at Blobs Park Bavarian Biergarten in Jessup.

The cookoff benefits Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, with 10 percent of ticket sales going to the charity, according to a news release.

At 6 p.m. Monday, Fordham competes against Chef Patrick "Opie" Crooks of Roy's Restaurant Baltimore, the release states.

Also vying for a finals berth, but competing on Tuesday, will be Chef Chris Lewis of Iron Bridge Wine Company in Columbia, and Chef R.L. Boyd of Mie N Yu, Georgetown.

Competition dates remaining include Aug. 20 and 21, and the Sept. 11 final.

Each event begins with a 6 p.m. happy hour, and judging at 8 p.m.

Tickets for the remaining events are $35 for general admission, and $55 for the judging experience—ticketholders taste the chefs' creations, the release states.

Each ticketholder gets admission to the competition, free appetizers, wine tastings and drink specials during happy hour.

Blobs Park is located at 8024 Max Blobs Park Road, Jessup.
