Pikes' Live Music a Weekend Draw to Downtown
Pikes Diner on Reisterstown Road offers a rotation of bands live music on Fridays and Saturdays.
Pikesville Patch has been featuring Pikes Diner's live music for a few months now.
I've been there three times since the beginning of the year, and have heard some of the variety of bands the staff books—from blues to rock and country.
For a cover charge—usually $5 or $10 per person, you can get a seat in a cushy vinyl booth, watch the show and meet other Pikesvillians you haven't seen in a while.

Patrons could also come earlier to have dinner, pay the cover and stay for the show.
Music begins at about 9 p.m., but when I've been there, most patrons arrive at 10 p.m. and later.
