North Oaks Residents Thank Staff During Holidays

Residents Association raises $40,000 as gift to staff at North Oaks.

Fulfilling an annual tradition, residents raised $40,000 as a holiday gift for the staff.

"We really appreciate the extra effort our goes to day-in and day-out, and we want to show our heartfelt appreciation," said George Coleman, the residents association treasurer, in a news release.

The association holds an annual campaign to raise money for staff gifts because there's a no-tipping policy at North Oaks, Coleman said.

Executive Director Mark Pressman said in the release that the residents and staff work together, and "Create a great place to live, and a great place to work."

There are 145 residents at North Oaks and 143 staff members, said Lisa Tyus, marketing assistant and move coordinator.
