UPDATE (1:39 p.m.)—A Westport McDonald's employee says she's the one who bought ticket at the 7-Eleven in Milford Mill.
Marlinde Wilson said she bought one for herself individually and also some in a pool with others at the McDonald's, according to a New York Post report.
She plans to turn in the ticket Monday, the report states; however, "Pressed as the day went on, she became more cagey."
"I don’t know if I won," she said in The Post. "Some of the numbers were familiar. I recognized some of [them].
“I don’t know why’’ people are saying differently. “I’m going to go to the lottery office [today]. I bought some tickets separately.”
Carole Everett, director of communications for Mega Millions, told Pikesville Patch she has no news on who the winner is.
"And to tell you the truth, I don't expect someone to walk through that door today."
A message on the media line says it was a "gentleman" who purchased the Maryland ticket.
On Saturday morning, the Maryland Lottery announced that one of three winning Mega Millions tickets had been sold at the 7-Eleven at 8014 Liberty Road.
At 5 a.m. Saturday, Pikesville Patch was at the Milford Mill store and the clerk and store manager had not yet heard that they had sold a winning ticket.
But by 7 a.m., TV networks from Washington DC other media as well as area residents to see whether the winner would arrive.
That day, the Maryland Lottery was there, announcing that the store had sold a winning ticket. It had been sold at 7:15 p.m. Friday night. However, the winner did not show that day.
One resident said she hopes the winner—if a local resident—will decide to give some money to help the community.
