Missoni at Pikesville Target Sold Out Quickly

An Italian designer's goods sold out at a Pikesville department store, the same day online shoppers crashed the company website.

The Italian designer Missoni's line for Target sold out the day it debuted at the Pikesville Target store, just as it did throughout the country, a local manager said.

"Actually, it was an incredibly fast seller," said Manager Frank Walborn. "We had about 15-25 people waiting at the door (before opened) and they went directly toward that," he said, referring to Missoni items.

Missoni designed a line of 400 products for Target that went on sale beginning Tuesday. The sale was scheduled to end Oct. 22.

The products, featuring zigzag patterns in bold colors, range from clothing for men, women and children, to decorative items for the home.

Nationwide, the debut of the line crashed the Target.com website as shoppers sought the luggage, bikes, clothing and housewares, according to a The Associated Press article in the Huffington Post.

The store expects more Missoni to arrive on Friday. But not all items, as some are sold out nationwide and will no longer be available.
