Pikesville's newest kosher restaurant is now open for business at the Pikesville Plaza building.

I took along a companion to test out the latest in dining fare.

The menu had options from sandwiches, pasta, wraps, burgers, chicken, grilled meats and salads.

I chose the Mediterranean lamb burger with barbecue sauce, and baked potato for $14.95.

The barbecue sauce and burger were delicious. I enjoyed the Mediterranean seasonings and especially the grilled taste.

I recommend it. However, if you prefer a warm or toasted bun, make sure to order it that way. Mine came a bit cooler than room temperature.

The baked potato came with margarine, and I opted for water to drink since there was no sugar-free teas, including hot tea—or coffee.

The waiter said hot beverages are not yet available at the restaurant, because the restaurant opened only last week.

So far, their drinks are all from cans and bottles, including Coca-Cola products, Snapple and Nestea.

My dining companion had the pastrami sandwich on a roll, from the "Overstuffed Deli" section of the menu.

She said she was surprised that the sandwich came with barbecue sauce. The take-out menu we got doesn't mention the addition of sauce.

The sandwich came on a role. On the side were cole slaw, pickle slices and veggies to add, including tomato, onion and romaine lettuce.

She said she would rate the sandwich a two out of five—if five is best.

I checked handicapped parking and found only one space behind the building, but none on the street.

There's still more to try, though, from the half glazed barbecue chicken for $12.95, to pasta with grilled vegetables and chicken for $15.95. There's also a 16-ounce rib steak for $26.95.

Enjoy!
