On Its Way: Corner Bakery Cafe

New cafe at Festival at Woodholme Shopping Center in Pikesville opened its first location in Chicago in 1991, according to the company's website.

Signs posted by Regency Center, which manages the shopping center, show the logo of Corner Bakery Cafe and its slogan "Feed the Day."

According to the company's website, the cafe has 129 locations, three of which are in Maryland: Gaithersburg, Westlake and Germantown. There are six in Washington, D.C. and five in Virginia, it states.

The first Corner Bakery opened in 1991 in downtown Chicago, featuring bread, coffee and espresso, according to the website.

Each location now offers sandwiches, paninis, desserts and salads, as well as breakfast foods, including oatmeal and other breakfast items.

Representatives from the cafe headquarters were not available to comment this week.
