Cheapest Gas Along Reisterstown Road: $3.65 Per Gallon

We drove Reisterstown Road through Pikesville and south across the Baltimore City line to find out where to find the cheapest gasoline.

With temperatures reaching more than 90 degrees today, we know the last thing you want to do is venture up and down Reisterstown Road—the main thoroughfare through Pikesville—searching for the cheapest gasoline prices.

At Patch, we did the work for you. And we found that, generally, the farther south you drive on Reisterstown Road, away from I-695, the cheaper the gasoline tended to be.

The Winner: The cheapest gas Wednesday afternoon was found just across the Baltimore City line at Gulf, 6315 Reisterstown Road, where regular gasoline cost $3.65 per gallon. Plus cost $3.85 and premium cost $3.95.

The Runner-Up: We found the next-best deal at BP, located at 4101 Patterson Ave., also in Baltimore, where regular gas cost $3.67 per gallon. Here, silver cost $3.83 per gallon and ultimate cost $3.93.

In Pikesville: At the BP located at 524 Reisterstown Road by Slade Avenue, regular gas cost $3.73 per gallon of regular, $3.97 for silver and $4.03 for ultimate.

Pam Flamer, a Baltimore County resident, wasn't happy with what she found at Citgo, 7101 Reisterstown Road. “I just think the prices are outrageous,” she said.

Prices at Citgo were $3.73 per gallon for regular, $3.95 for mid-grade and $4.05 for supreme.

Flamer said that while gasoline prices have decreased a bit, she still has to cut back on many of her other expenses to afford it.

Pikesville resident Cassandra Fields said she usually finds the cheapest gas prices at the station closest to the Wawa at 2845 Rolling Road, in Woodlawn, but decided to pump at Sunoco, located at 6629 Reisterstown Road in Baltimore, across from the Reisterstown Plaza shopping center, because she was running low on gas and it's located near her home.

Regular gas at Sunoco cost $3.72 per gallon on Wednesday, plus was $3.94 and ultra was $4.04.

“These gas prices are ridiculous,” Fields said. “I wish that the prices weren’t as high. I can’t understand why they are as high as they are, but you have to make a living and get around, so you cut back and you don’t go as many places as you would normally go because the prices are ridiculous.”
