Mr. Joel Monroe Named History Department Chair

Beth Tfiloh Dahan High School’s Director of Education Mrs. Zipora Schorr is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Joel Monroe as chair of the History department.
Mr. Monroe, who has taught at Beth Tfiloh since August 2007, holds a Masters of Education from Loyola of Chicago and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Sociology from the University of Cincinnati. He currently teaches Upper School History and A.P. Economics.
Prior to teaching at Beth Tfiloh, Mr. Monroe was a member of the Social Studies department at Pikesville High School, from August 1999 to June 2007, where taught U.S. History, A.P. Economics, Personal Economics, Government, Holocaust and Psychology.
He also coached varsity football and golf during his tenure at Pikesville.

Previous positions include serving as a member of the Social Studies Department at the Lab School of Washington D.C., and as a member of the Special Education Department in Highland Park HS in Highland Park, Illinois.
Mr. Monroe’s personal interests include golf, fishing, kayaking, traveling, guitar, music and Ohio State football.
