Wanted: Prize-Winning Readers for Summer Club

Sneaks the Cat, the Baltimore County Public Library system's mascot, visited the Pikesville Branch last week to help kick off the Summer Reading Club.

Sneaks the Cat visited the Pikesville Branch Library last week to kick off the Baltimore County Public Library system's Summer Reading Club.

The club begins Monday and runs through Aug. 10 at all 19 branches, according to a statement from the library system.

During Sneaks' visit, opening night for an art exhibit by Wellwood International Elementary School students was under way.

Through the summer reading club, kids on up to teenagers record what they read—books, magazines, newspapers—and can earn prizes.

The branch, at 1301 Reisterstown Road, is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

On Sept. 8, Sunday hours begin, and will be from 1-5 p.m. through May 18, 2014.
