GET OUT: Your Weekend Plan for the Baltimore Area

A music spotlight in Baltimore, a party in Bel Air, a romantic Italian dinner and classical music nearby are all available this weekend.

  • Do you live and/or work in Baltimore? Have a story to tell about how you get around the city? Today, Thursday, Feb. 10, 2011, The Maryland Humanities Council presents "Moving Stories: Getting Around Baltimore," a free event that will bring Baltimore residents, workers, bikers, hikers and riders together to discuss transportation issues in a meaningful, respectful way. Storytellers will tell true, personal stories about their transportation experiences in Baltimore City. After all stories are told, audience members and storytellers will gather in small, facilitated groups to discuss and debate the ideas they've heard. Moving Stories begins at 6 p.m. at the Walters Art Museum, 600 N. Charles St., Baltimore, MD. To register, visit mdhc.org.
  • : Recher Theatre will host a local music spotlight Friday, Feb. 11, featuring Screams and Whispers, Siren, Katie Got Guts and The Frontrunner. Doors open at 7 p.m. and all ages are welcome.   • BALTIMORE BACH MARATHON: It’s back-to-back Bach at St. David's Church this Sunday, Feb. 13, as hundreds of musicians from Baltimore and Washington D.C. perform in the 35th Annual Baltimore Bach Marathon. This is the church’s most popular event—and one that classical music aficionados won’t want to miss. The music begins at 1 p.m. and winds down around 7 p.m. Lunch is from 1-3 p.m., with coffee after the event. Admission is at no cost, donations are accepted.
