Get Out! Events to Get Into This Weekend

Observe Good Friday, Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday at some local churches. Plus, get screened for skin cancer, meet some local sports heroes at the Hilton, or celebrate Earth Day.

The upcoming Easter holiday will be observed, and there are plenty of non-religious activities, tooeverything from skin cancer screenings to meeting some beloved local athletes!

Where/When: on Friday, April 22, at 7 p.m.

Why Go: Join Christ United Methodist Church of the Deaf, Mt. Olive United Methodist Church and Wards Chapel United Methodist Church in this observance of Good Friday. All are welcome to come and worship.

Price: Free

Where/When: on Saturday, April 23, at 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Why Go: Holy Saturday Mass will be offered at these times, plus primary school children can come and practice with the choir at 10 a.m. and participate in Easter Sunday Mass on Sunday, April 24, at 8 a.m.

Price: Free

Where/When: on Friday, April 22, at 12:45 p.m.

Why Go: Learn more about Mother Earth by playing some fun trivia.

Price: Free

Where/When: on Friday, April 22, from 5 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, April 23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: You can meet all of the living Orioles Rookie of the Year awardees, plus other local favorites like Joe Flacco and Ray Lewis.

Price: Varies depending on which autograph package you purchase

Where/When: on Saturday, April 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 101 Reisterstown Rd.

Why Go: Summer is coming, and the sun will be stronger than ever. Skin cancer screenings will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Come out and make sure your skin is at its healthiest!

Price: Free

Where/When: on Sunday, April 24, from 6 to 11 a.m.

Why Go: Easter will be celebrated all morning, starting with a sunrise Mass at 6 a.m. Afterward, breakfast will be served at 7 a.m., and there will be another worship service at 10 a.m.

Wednesday, April 27, is the date of one of the most important events in Pikesville: the , an annual event held by the Pikesville Chamber of Commerce. It's time to buy tickets for you and your co-workers.

And don't miss the cat rescue event Saturday, April 30 at Pikesville Bingo Hall. It's a five-hour event from 12:30-5:30 p.m., held by the , in Pikesville. Many of the cats are placed with foster families in Pikesville, and are ready to find homes.
