Elementary Schools Plan Events Friday

Students at Wellwood International and Woodlawn elementary schools will be treated to reading, or a science, technology, engineering and mathematics events.

Educators are working hard to keep students interested in education. Here are two special events they're putting on this week—at the school year's end for Baltimore County Public schools.

Wellwood International Elementary students will be reading on the lawn again, during an event this week to kick off the summer reading program, according to a news release from Baltimore County Public Schools.

From 9:30-10:30 a.m. June 7, students and staff will be out reading along with students from Pikesville High School, the release states.

The elder students will "emphasize the importance of reading at all grade and age levels," it states.

Woodlawn

Featherbed Lane Elementary students love their science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

And staff is devoting an entire day to it this week.

"I Love STEM" day will include activities and a visit by the school system's Parentmobile, according to a news release.
