Snow, Ice Possibilities Tonight, Tuesday Morning

Accuweather.com forecasts snow turning to ice.

Snow and sleet that are expected tonight could turn to ice by tomorrow morning, according to Accuweather.com.

Snowfall could occur this evening, and then at about midnight, according to Accuweather's hour-by-hour forecast.

The National Weather Service has Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 10 p.m. tonight through noon Tuesday, because "snow ... sleet and freezing rain" is expected.

NWS said about one inch or less of snow and sleet will accumulate in the area including Pikesville, and about .2 inches of ice will accumulate.

  • 10 p.m. Monday to midnight Tuesday:  A mix of snow and sleet.
  • Midnight to 3 a.m.:  Snow and sleet changes to freezing rain, continuing through early Tuesday morning.
  • Late Tuesday morning: Freezing rain that changes to rain.

"A winter weather advisory means that periods of snow ... sleet ... or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities ... and use caution while driving," according to the NWS.
