Purim: 'The Funny Holiday'

Rabbi Ron Shulman of Chizuk Amuno Congregation writes about overcoming threat through courage and conviction this holiday.

"On Purim we laugh, mock, dress in costumes, and act silly. Why? Why is Purim the funny holiday?" Shulman writes in "Thoughts & Teachings."

By celebrating a victory over annihilation, and celebrating the good, "We transform the threat of annihilation into the joy of living," he said.
