PHOTOS: Irene Gentle on Pikesville Area So Far; Shabbat As Usual

The tropical storm conditions expected later tonight haven't reached our area yet.

Expect winds of around 28 mph and gusts of 38 mph later tonight, thanks to Hurricane Irene, which is expected to affect Pikesville, Upper Park Heights, Randallstown and Woodlawn as a tropical storm.

For now, the rains and winds are comparatively gentle, delivering only about one-quarter inch of rain so far, according to the National Weather Service's forecast for Pikesville.

But around 2 a.m., the worst of the storm is expected to touch us with heavy rainfall—between 3 to 4 inches—and winds of 34 to 44 mph, packing gust punches up to 60 mph.
