Mosque to Occupy Slade Mansion

Baltimore Hebrew Congregation across Slade Avenue to share its parking lot with new neighbor.

Slade Mansion will soon be occupied by Ahmadiyya Movement in Islam, Inc., USA.

The mosque bought the building at the corner of Slade and Park Heights Avenues for $900,000, according to a report in BaltimoreJewishLife.com.

According to a report in JTA: The Global News Service of the Jewish People, Baltimore Hebrew Congregation, across Slade Avenue, has offered to share its parking lot with the mosque.

"The former Slade Mansion will be used as a mosque, but outwardly it will remain the same ... " the report states. "It will be utilized for worship on Fridays from 1:30-2:15 p.m., by about 40 families who already live in our general vicinity, and probably for periodic meetings. Currently, the worshipers meet in the area."
